During the winter months, updates will be provided monthly. Any major news will be posted separately.
Hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas and the golf centre wishes everyone the best for the new year.
Course/Range Information
December naturally is a quiet golf month, but the greens team have been working hard to keep the course in good condition and protect it for the new golf season in the spring. Unfortunately this means at times we have had to impose temporary greens alongside our temporary tees. We will always try to play full greens where possible and we appreciate everybody's patience.
On the range, we had a successful December with our 12 days of Christmas promotion and a lot of customers took part. We will be looking to do more promotions throughout 2026 so keep an eye out for some events to win some fantastic prizes.
There was a newsletter also sent out in December about pricing for 2026. Our prices have slightly increased and as much as we was reluctant to do, we feel this is the right move to keep in line with rising costs and the quality of golf course/driving range that we provide.
Competitions
Again, another weather affected month with just 5 competitions played across the club in December.
Colin Hadwin secured the first win of December with a win in the monthly strokeplay. He shot a fantastic nett 72 to beat former captain Ray Warwick by 2 shots.
Harvey Pargetter would pick up a win the week later in Donate a Gift to Kind Stableford. He scored 36 points in a close competition finished a point ahead of Paul Bush who was 2nd and two points ahead of Kieran Starkey who was 3rd.
The last event of 2025 saw the closest event of the year in the Winter league stableford. Iain Craig, Sam Stokes, shaun Harris and Ray Howard all finished on 37. An incredible score from all four players. However, on countback it was Sam Stokes who got the win with Iain Craig 2nd, Shaun Harris 3rd and Ray Howard 4th.
Winter conditions really affected the LAdies competitions as only two event were able to be played. The four club challenge was won by the Captain Niki Mann with 13 points. She finished three points clear of Annette Softley.
Last year's captain Monica Boyd secured the Donate a Gift Stableford a week later, winning on countback from Tracey Pearson as both Ladies finished on 12 points.
Hopefully more events will be able to be played at the start of 2026.
Congratulations to all winners!!
